Ingredients :
- 3 tablespoons of currants
- 3 cups of water
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 2 tablespoons of flour
- 1/2 tablespoon of golden syrup
- 1 tablespoon of vinegar
- a little sugar
- salt
Method :
- Clean and rinse the currants in warm water and boil till tender.
- When soft, drain, but keep the water in which they were boiled.
- Melt the butter, and stir in the flour but without browning.
- Add gradually the water in which the currants were boiled.
- Stir in the golden syrup, flavor with the vinegar, sugar, and salt, and simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes.
