Kaneelsaus (Cinnamon Sauce)

This is typicall Dutch Sauce, often used with groats or rice.

Ingredients :

  • 1/2 pint of milk
  • just over 1/4 cup of flour
  • 4 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 stick of cinnamon

Method :
  1. Mix the flour and sugar, and moisten with a little cold milk.
  2. Put the remainder of the milk in a saucepan with the stick of cinnamon, bring to the boil and simmer till the milk is well flavored.
  3. Stir in the flour and sugar, and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring continously.
  4. Remove the stick of cinnamon before serving.
  5. Powdered cinnamon can be used instead.
