Mom's Banana Nut Bread

Ingredients :

  • 2 C. flour plus more for pans
  • 1/2 C. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 C. packed light or dark brown sugar
  • 3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 T. vegetable oil
  • 1/3 C. milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 C. mashed bananas (2-3 bananas)
  • 1 C. chopped nuts (whatever variety liked except peanuts)
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg

Directions :
  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Grease and flour bread loaf pan.
  3. Combine all dry ingredients.
  4. Add remaining ingredients except nuts and beat until well blended.
  5. Fold in nuts.
  6. Pour into prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 55-65 minutes.
  8. To check for doneness, insert toothpick into center of loaf.
  9. Loaf is done when toothpick comes out clean.
