Kottbullar (Meat Balls)

Ingredients : (For 6 People)

  • 1/2 lb. of minced beef
  • 1/4 lb. of minced veal
  • 1/2 cup of minced pork
  • 2 or 3 cups of milk
  • 1 or 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons of finely chopped onion
  • 4 tablespoons of butter
  • salt
  • pepper

Method ;
  1. Put the meat three times through the grinder.
  2. Beat the eggs with the milk, add the breadcrumbs and let them soak till they swell.
  3. Fry the chopped onions to a golden brown.
  4. Mix the meat with the breadcrumbs, work well together, and add the onions, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  5. Shape into small balls and fry in butter.
  6. When brown, add 1 cup of boiling water and simmer for 15 minutes.
